Last year I had seen this picture of Dinesh Mills bungalow in India on Freshhome Interior Design and Architects website. I fell in love with its design. The style is simple, clean and contemporary which gives it a personality. More magic is added by the pool around the bungalow and the suitable lighting. A perfect place to spend your breezy summer nights or winter mornings. Sigh....

What do you think? A little too bright? Yes, me too. Though the color is little bright for my taste, I actually like it. It gives a sense of energy. I would have added a fruit bowl full of red apples and oranges on the counter. The Indian red is helping break the continuous yellow tone. As it is said here use of yellow color enlightens your home ... and the kitchen too. Very true.

Such a beauty! There is nothing like spending a hot afternoon on a relaxing deck like this, reading a book and enjoying a fresh cool drink. I am a city girl but always get attracted to rural living because of its simplicity and connection with nature. May be it is because I spent my summer vacations and -'Diwali' holidays in our family home which is in a tiny village in India. The picture of the above deck reminds me of those carefree, peaceful and happy days. We used to have a full house during these vacations with all my family, cousins, aunts and uncles... and lots of care, pampering and love with good food and countless activities.
The above picture is from Elle Decor Magazine. It is the deck of the main house of Charlene de Ganay’s home in South America. The dark color of the deck connects to the color of the roof via the poles. The glass doors, frames and pillows on the bed accents the darker background. The lighter colors of the wall prevents it from becoming monotonous. The overall feel is of course relaxing and comforting with the green coconuts lending a soothing touch
